Research interests

I am part of the team Theory of the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides in Orsay.
My research concerns many aspects of the theory of strongly correlated condensed matter systems  with a particular focus
on spin-dependent and phase-coherent phenomena (‘mesoscopics’) in nanostructures such as quantum wires, quantum dots, carbon nanotubes, semi-conducting heterostructures, etc.
At this length scale, quantum effects, such as the wave nature of the electron, local magnetism, superconductivity, play a prominent role.
More generally, l hold a general interest for strongly correlated systems in condensed matter and quantum optics among which
- Transport in correlated nanosystems and its non-equilibrium features (includes hybrid electronic-cavity QED systems)
- New topological states of matter such as topological insulators and superconductors and their  exotic excitations.
- Quantum spintronics
- Strongly correlated quantum systems in low dimensions.

I am mainly using analytical methods based on
quantum field theory, such as diagrammatics, renormalization group approaches, etc.

PhD subjects for prospective students:

I am always  looking for bright, motivated, and enthusiastic candidates who are interested to do research in areas of modern quantum physics like quantum transport in correlated systems at the interface between mesoscopic physics and quantum optics,  topological new states of matter including Majorana fermions and parafermions, low dimensional disordered many-body systems (statics and dynamics), magnonics, quantum spintronics, etc.
